Beti Bachao Beti Padhao

Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Scheme is a Central Scheme launched by the Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi on 22nd January 2015 at Panipat in Haryana. The Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Scheme was launched and implemented by Government of Goa on 06th May, 2015 in North Goa District of the State of Goa, since North Goa District was initially selected among the 100 districts for implementation of the Scheme by the Government of India.

Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Scheme is a Central Sector Scheme (CSS), implemented through State Government through District Collectors/District Magistrates in convergence with Departments like Directorate of Panchayat, Labour Commission, Directorate of Education, Directorate of Health, Police Department, Directorate of Social Welfare, Directorate of District Rural Development Agency and NGOs like Childline and Children Rights in Goa.

The overall goal of the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Scheme is to celebrate the girl child and enable her education. The objectives of the scheme are as under:-

1) To prevent gender biased sex selective elimination.

2) To ensure survival and protection of the girl child.

3) To ensure education and participation of the girl Child.
